Welcome to Mother and Artist in Italy! My name is Lea Altea Winnen and I moved to Italy with my two young sons and my husband about a year and a half ago. My husband is Italian and carries dual citizenship, between Italy and the USA. We wanted our boys to experience life here, and to learn about Italian culture. Excited for new experiences I hopped on a plane with two babies. Finding work has been a challenge, so I decided to dive into becoming an entrepreneur. Currently, I write and illustrate children's books. I also create and design activity books for children. I have been working with young children, first as a preschool teacher for 20+ years, and then as an occupational therapy assistant for 4 years. In this blog, we will explore what it is like to be, a mother and artist in Italy. Also, I will explore professional concepts and ideas from my areas of expertise.
